What upstream wideband oxygen sensors are available that fit my 2023 Mazda MX-5 ND2?

In the EFI Components Oxygen Sensor course video it’s stated: 01:42 “Since the narrowband sensor is only effective at the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio they aren't particularly useful for us when it comes to actually tuning the engine.”

And at 01:52 “For this purpose we need a wideband sensor which is able to accurately measure across the range of air-fuel ratios that we may end up running our engines at.”

Therefore I need the proper upstream sensor in order to tune my car.

I have a Goodwin Racing cat midpipe with the standard size two bungs for the sensors.

The primary o2 sensor is a wideband from factory.

My online search, asking, “Is the Oxygen Sensor on the 2023 Mazda MX-5 ND2 2.0L a broadband O2 sensor?” returns this result from an AI search from mazda.oempartsonline.com: “The 2023 Mazda MX-5 ND2 2.0L uses a narrow-band oxygen sensor, not a broadband O2 sensor.”

I just checked the above link and found that it’s for the the rear sensor, so here’s the link for the Front/Upstream sensor, and they are different, but neither indicates if they are wideband or narrowband: https://mazda.oempartsonline.com/oem-parts/mazda-oxygen-sensor-p517188gx.

And for the rear sensor it’s: https://mazda.oempartsonline.com/oem-parts/mazda-oxygen-sensor-p51818861. Bold is the sensor’s part number.

However, a search for Is the front Oxygen Sensor on the 2023 Mazda MX-5 ND2 2.0L a broadband O2 sensor? indicates that “Yes, the front oxygen sensor on the 2023 Mazda MX-5 ND2 2.0L is a broadband O2 sensor. This type of sensor is designed to provide more precise readings of the air-fuel mixture compared to traditional narrow-band sensors.” partsgeek.com, CarParts.com.

However, following these two links indicates in the description, “Sensor Type: Narrow-Band,” from partsgeek.com.

And CarParts.com doesn’t show the sensor but only answers the question, “Upstream vs. Downstream O2 Sensor: What’s the Difference?”

So where do you get “The primary o2 sensor is a wideband from factory?”

The o2 sensor thread is universal. Any wideband will work. Bosch LSU4.9 is usually the go-to. I don't know mazda ecu's, but that is your answer to "where to get a wideband o2 sensor" how you import/log/utilize the data provided by your wideband is another question.

If you have the tuning tools and can read the lambda/AFR value of your car currently, and it reports something other than .99 or 1.02 lambda, then you have a wideband.

Mazda specific part questions are usually better suited for mazda/mx-5 specific forums. There's a lot more knowledge there.

However, after speaking with Anthony for some time, I ended up getting another kit, from him and now it is under their protection. Now that particular o2 sensor is free forever.

VS went to Bosch, I must have explained which department I was looking for a half dozen times, I was transferred to every department in that company. At the end they had transferred me to appliances, I then hung up and sent a message on their inter-webs. Which they said they typically respond in 48 hours. It has now been 9 months....

Anyway, I have a 93 NA6, your ND is built off my NA platform, A lot more parts from your car are compatible with my generation than any other year.
