Hi there, I am having trouble with configuring my Haltech Elite 2500. Haven't heard from their technical support yet, need help please.

Setup

  • ECU: Elite 2500 (firmware: [version], NSP version: [version])
  • Engine: Honda K24 with a custom-built wiring harness
  • All sensors are Honda OEM parts
  • I have repeatedly checked all wiring and grounds, using the officially recommended star-point grounding layout, and I have read through the Haltech technical support documents for Honda K-series engines.
Issue 1: No spark on all four cylinders

  • When cranking, the voltage at pin 1 of the ignition coil (trigger input) is almost undetectable, at most about 0.1 V.
  • My ignition settings follow the official base file: Direct Fire, Falling Edge, Constant Charge.
  • As a test, I built a 2 kΩ pull-up resistor and connected it to the cylinder 1 coil trigger line, pulling the signal up to 5 V. The coil then fired successfully.
  • I repeated this on the other three cylinders and on four spare coils, with the same result each time.
  • Does this indicate damage to the ignition output stage of the ECU? Is there anything else I should check, such as the output configuration or the expected output type and voltage?
Issue 2: Abnormal MAP reading

  • With the throttle fully closed, the MAP reading is 0 kPa (gauge). When I open the throttle, the reading goes negative instead of increasing.
  • The datalog trace is smooth, so the signal looks inverted rather than noisy.
  • I am using the DC5 MAP sensor calibration file supplied with NSP.
  • The same sensor works normally on a different Honda K24 running the factory ECU, so I believe the sensor itself is good.
  • What could cause this behaviour? Please advise what to check on the calibration or input configuration.
Issue 3: Low ECU supply voltage during cranking

  • During cranking, my multimeter reads 11 V directly at the battery terminals.
  • At the ECU power input (to ground), and in the NSP “Battery Voltage” channel, the reading is only 9.4–9.8 V.
  • With the injectors and ignition coils unplugged, the ECU voltage rises to 10–10.4 V, but it is still 0.6–1 V below the battery voltage.
  • Is this voltage drop considered normal, or does it point to a problem in my power supply wiring, relay or fusing?

I can provide my tune file, datalogs and wiring diagram if that would help. Thank you for your time.
