Would the m1 motec ecu be the same configuration as my m84.
No those are completely different, but the concepts shown in the course do apply to your M84. For example, the M1 is a Volumetric Efficiency (VE) based ECU, where as the M84 Fueling table is pulse-width oriented (the IJPU sets the pulsewidth for 100 in the fuel table).
