Hi guys

Hope your everything going well

anyone has experienced to add M5 Fuel to Q16 Fuel ? How much is it possible?! 5% or 10% ?!

If you have any experience please let me know ,

thanks ,

Not something I've done, but exactly what gain do you expect to realise from the blend? You 'may' gain a tiny amount of MON octane, but the loss of RON is going to be greater?

Maybe nitro-methane, but for what you seem to have there are probably many other things you can do for more benefit.

It will depend on the specific engine, but things like cold air induction, intake manifold thermal spacers, light weight wheels, are easy bolt-ons.

Hmmm, depending on access to refills for it, a simple NO₂ kit can add 25+ hp for relatively low cost - even a "wet" system isn't that expensive, last time I checked.

As Gord asked, what are you trying to achieve?

Yes I've tested various fuel blends like that over the years, but knowing what you're trying to achieve, what your goal is in changing the fuel would help offer you meaningful suggestions.

it’s for N/A high compression drag engine ,I’m looking for better performance if blend M5 is good , Now It’s tuned with full Q16

PSA tu5 ZRP kit 1.8L 240whp @ 8700 RPM on ( DynoJet )

That power level does seem a little low for that engine and kit - you may want to play a little with camshaft timing, assuming you're using the most "powerful" you can use for that engine, and maybe revisit intake lengths and the exhaust dimensions?

As I said, you may lose a little with M5, as the Q16 is a very good fuel - refine your AFR/lambda with your timing, to establish what the engine wants with the above, and you should pick up a bit more.

If there's no fuel limitation, going full methanol with, maybe, a decent helping of nitro-methanol, will give you significantly more power - but be warned, you're going to need a big increase in the fuel capacity, need to make sure the ENTIRE fuel system is methanol rated - it's extremely corrosive to 'soft' metals if there's any moisture in it, and if going for nitro' blends, that's even nastier, and you need to know what your doing - but sorted you can probably make well over double the power.

Got it. I don't expect you'll find significant gains from blending a little M5 with Q16. Switching fuel completely will often provide a gain after retuning, but how much does vary per application.

If you make the switch, I suggest considering M1 first, then try M5.

Either way, take a good bit of timing out if switching from Q16, and then carefully retune timing.

Dear Mike and Gord

Thank you for attention,

By switching the fuel to M1, how many more horsepower do we have?

According to your experience? I know that it is impossible to say exactly and it depends on many parameters

We worked a alot on this engine during these years,Cannot compare with Honda , we have Honda B and K in our garage,

a lot of camshaft profiles, comp ratio , Many type of headers and … we tested

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
