I'm installing a haltech elite 2500 on a 2006 Mercedes slk 55amg. The aim is to eventually add a remote mount twin turbo setup. The engine is the amg m113 v8. As the title suggests, im installing the haltech in parallel so as not to offend the factory can bus system and lose many factory functions inside the vehicles cabin. My question is this; is it possible to wire the original factory knock sensors (Bosch 2 wire) into both ECUs, or will I have to completely disconnect the factory ecu for proper operation? If I have to completely disconnect the factory ecu from the knock sensors, is there a way to fool the factory box into thinking they're still there so it doesn't throw codes? When I asked Haltech these questions they told me not to worry about wiring the knock sensors and to solely trust the dyno...ill pass.

If the Haltech is controlling the timing, I would wire the knock sensors to the Haltech only. If the OEM ECU for some reason required knock sensors to be connected, get another set and connect them -- just don't bolt them anywhere that can detect knock. I might wire tie them to the harness.
