Autotune | Is It All You Need?
Summary
00:00 | - Drift Ben's asked, I'm using an MS3 Pro, Tuner Studio has an autotune function, how reliable is that, as a starting point on a turbo motor? OK so autotune functionality generally across the board, it can be a really good thing but you do need to just keep in mind, there's no magic here and it's really a case of garbage in garbage out. |
00:22 | So the autotune functionality is only going to be as good as the way we're using it. |
00:25 | What I mean by this is if we want to get the best results with any autotune function, we want to be mindful of making sure that we're driving the car in the right way to achieve good results. |
00:36 | We want to be nice and smooth on the throttle input so that we're not introducing acceleration enrichment or decel enleanment. |
00:45 | That's going to really mess with our air/fuel ratios. |
00:47 | We also want to be trying to drive the car as close to the centre of each of the cells that we're auto tuning as possible. |
00:54 | So if we're not doing that, if we're sort of interpolating between two cells, it will affect the accuracy of the finished result. |
01:01 | But yeah if we understand the requirements there and we're careful with the way we drive the car, the autotune functionality can be a really good way of speeding up the process of tuning the fuel table. |
