Engine Swap: Is Your Donor Engine A Dud? | Today At HPA [UPDATE 242]

What points do you need to check over to ensure that you get a reliable doner engine?

This is Andres update that came right before webinar lesson ‘242 | Harmonic Dampers - Do You Need one?’. Details on membership below.

00:27 FJ40/BJ42 Project - 3B to 3UZ-FE swap. Last week we weren't sure if we were heading into 1UZ or 3UZ territory with the 40 series build, this week a 3UZ is confirmed with a 'good known runner' doner engine arriving on the doorstep.

Andre will run through a few points to check when ensuring you're getting a solid engine for your swap if you're planning on using your chosen engine in 'stock' form. Although a lot of engines come with a 3-month warranty, a lot of projects do take much longer.

08:41 RaceCraft - Corner Weighting course is pretty much done, keep an eye out for it soon.
Also, if you have no idea what Racecraft HQ is, Andre covers that too.

14:04 Article Releases: The latest release covers piston ring end gaps along with some recent ones on concentric twisting, relays and Club vs Professional level wiring looms.

15:00 Turbo Performance - Rundown from a recent HPA101 Instagram post on the topic.

20:01 Sydney Jamboree release - Joe from Team Karam Racing and a 4G63 powered EVO 8 drag car.

WEBINAR INFO: The harmonic damper is possibly one of the most misunderstood items when it comes to a performance engine build. We’ll discuss what they are and why they’re used. We’ll also discuss the differences between factory dampers and aftermarket options such as the offerings from ATI and Fluidampr.
