Hi

So I'm having a issue with the cam control on the exhaust side of my K20c in a FK8 ctr with a Motec M1.

At around 5500 - 6000 rpm, up the rev limited, at Wide open throttle with a good amount of boost my exhaust cam position starts retarding until it reaches the full retard limit (27deg) while the aim is at 2deg. As soon at the throttle is closed the cam timing goes back to the requested aim.

If I lower the boost the issue goes away and all other times the cam control works as it should.

Could this be Back pressure / cylinder pressure having an effect on the cams ability to rotate and then putting more force on the the vtc actuator?

Since oil pressure controls the cam position, I wonder if the differential oil pressure changes as the boost rises (i.e, is there pressure in the area where the valve operates). Have you tried measuring crankcase or valve cover pressure (I assume these would be similar)?

You could share your M1 Package, or check things like Actuator Minimum, Actuator Maximum, Control Feed Forward.

Can you share a logged data file with all the relevant exhaust cam control channels (i.e actuator output duty cycle, control integral minimum, control integral maximum).

If you don't have level 2 logging to capture this, can you create these conditions with M1 Tune attached, pause the data and study what has happened?
