Hello Adam, hello team

I am going to use AEM smart coils, 30-2853 type in conjunction with a Atom 2.

https://documents.aemelectronics.com/e8a2a58402879b49e1315c97b0d148a63b6b26ab.pdf

The AEM instruction sheet above states that pin B must be connected to ECU sensor ground, but I am hesitant to wire it this way.

What is the advice you can give on this ?

Thank you in advance,

Dom

Link supply the same coil, we have a general info doc here: https://linkecu.com/documentation/IGN1A Smart Coil.pdf

Pin B is the ground reference for the ignitor "transistor", so for the lowest risk of false triggering from ground offsets this should connect to the same ground point the ecu ignition outputs connect to, (for a Link ecu this is the main ECU power grounds) which are generally connected to the engine block. Preferably not the same point as pin c.

Hi Adam

Thank you for your comprehensive answer.

Best regards

Dom
