Hello guys,

So I have been playing with tuning in my spare time and by no means do I know everything. I have mostly focused on Standalone (ECUMaster) tuning using the VE model, but my buddy asked me to look at his Toyota 86 and I got a bit confused.

Using RomRaider (After being used to ECUMaster software, not a fan), I see the following fuel table,

""

For me looking at this table it makes sense, however to me this seems excessively rich for the NA FA20, bone stock barring some headers.

Now I know the car is renowned here by us for knocking by default (Due to crappy fuel), so I would assume a slightly richer than normal AFR, but I have seen his car spike to 11.5 AFR (roughly 0.78 lambda) on WOT, for me this is where I am slightly confused. From the courses (As that is my only reference really) I understood that for NA application running a Lambda 0.85-0.9 is considered for WOT usages, and that is what I kinda expected with the 86, which is clearly not the case.

On my Turbocharged 86 I run roughly 0.78 lamda, which makes more sense as I would expect my AFR under boost to be around 11.5-12.5.

So the question are,

1) Am I crazy in saying that it is running to0 rich, if so what AFR ranges are best targeted for the NA FA20

2) What other weird considerations are required for the FA20 motor that I need to be wary of?

Even when looking at the ignition table, it has a section of 50deg advanced which is weird (Could be specific to FA20),

Sorry if the question seems a bit stupid, just trying to understand. My only reference I have is my VQ35 tuned on ECUmaster so trying to air on the side of caution :)

Dropped a data log into MLV HD as well, and got a interesting view,

""

You can see the highlighted area is between 3rd gear and 4th gear, the avg afr is 11.5
