hi ,

i am tuning a golf mk5 gti 2006 with a eurodyne maestro software , how can i use my ignition table to make my car make this pop sound or anti-lag sound.

is it by retarding the ignition? or by adding fuel and retarding the ignition ? and in which area should the ignition and fuel be added?

thank you ,

ibrahim

Bobkhaouli,

To run anti-lag requires several different controls. You need ignition retard (around 20-30 ATDC), a form of ignition cut, an air bypass or throttle cracker to allow air to still enter the engine even when at 0 TP (and other conditions met) and to allow a little extra fuel.

If you're just wanting the pops and bangs on overrun, then you maybe able to just retard ignition timing at higher rpm and 0-10(ish) TP to ATDC. Adding a little bit of fuel on overrun or turning off overrun fuel cut will help out with the pops and flames. Although don't add to much fuel as you will actually cool the exhaust and it won't ignite and give a puff of smoke.

Ideally if you want it quite aggressive you need to find a way to allow a little air bypass when in higher rpm and 0 tp. Is it possible to hijack your idle control to open it in these conditions? Or if its E-Throttle you can open the throttle slightly (if possible in the software) to allow the air bypass and retard the timing to reduce engine torque to stop the engine revving up to high.

Just tread carefully, engine or turbo damage is possible if you're unsure what you're doing.
