Hi! I am member of a formula student team. I wanted to obtain the map of the stock ecu that I have, so that I have a base map to start from. I want basically the ignition timings as I am new to tuning and ignition timing can lead to some major damage so I just need the stock ignition timing so that I have something safe to start from.

I thought reflashing course will help me to obtain this information but after going through some of the videos I don't think that It will teach me basics.

I am using a KTM 500 exc engine (2017), it comes with a keihen ecu.

Can anyone please suggest how to start.

You will need to see if anyone has reversed engineered the stock maps already. There might be a reflash tool available to buy.

I searched online and came upon a software called tune ecu, people use it to read stock maps but unfortunately no work has been done on the KTM 500 as its diagnostic adaptor consist both the CAN as well as k line wire. I am confused whether the communication is done on CAN or K line. Can any one help as how to check whether the communication is done on CAN or K Line?

K line is an old outdated standard, so it depends on how old

I am talking about KTM 500 exc 2017 model.
