Dear sir,

When using ARP bolts, should the manufacturer's specification be followed?

sincerely

Mohamed Farouk

Hi.

I wonder what would make you doubt that..?

The ARP specification should be used, with no exception coming to mind (there may be some, but...) as different bolt materials and treatments mean different modulus when stretched.

Plus, when converting from bolts to stups, the OEM bolt is normally a coarse thread, and the nuts on the replacement studs are normally a fine thread - oh, and different lubricants will also affect the stretch to applied torque curve.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
