00:18 These days thanks to the miracle of the internet and Google, this is usually pretty straightforward.
00:24 If you've got a popular engine, probably about a 30 second Google search will find you numerous versions of that factory workshop manual.
00:34 Now why that's important is that first of all, it will have every single clearance and every single tolerance, or clearance range for all of the critical clearances inside your engine.
00:45 It'll also have the torque settings for all of the fasteners in your engine and a lot of the other specific service processes and steps that you will need to go through.
00:56 Some engines are more complex than others so it's really important to have that information.
01:01 Now once you've got that information, that doesn't necessarily mean that you will stick to the clearance targets that the manufacturer is given but it's always good to have that information at hand anyway.
01:12 Now the only time that you may struggle with this is if you're building an engine that is not particularly popular or alternatively you're dealing with something that is a brand new release from the manufacturer so you're dealing with a 2020 car that's just come out with a brand new engine combination, can take six to 12 months before the factory workshop manual filters down out into the internet where we can get easy access to it.
