A factory Toyota 2JZ has a legendary reputation for making huge power, but making 1000 horsepower once and building an engine that will reliably survive repeated abuse are two very different things.

Dart explains how its aftermarket 2JZ block improves on the factory design with thicker main webbing, four-bolt billet main caps, thicker cylinder walls and deck surfaces, and tighter control over the casting and machining process.

We also look at why block rigidity has a direct effect on ring seal, and how gas-ported Diamond Pistons use combustion pressure behind the piston ring to improve sealing against the cylinder bore.

From there, we move into the BoostLine connecting rods, which have been proven at 2000 horsepower on the 2JZ platform. More importantly, we explain why horsepower alone doesn't determine connecting rod load, and finally get a technical explanation of the real difference between I-beam and H-beam connecting rods.

Rounding out the bottom end is Dart's 3.2-litre billet stroker crankshaft. The additional capacity helps spool a large turbo earlier and produce more power and torque lower in the rev range, helping achieve the broad, streetable power curve we're targeting.
