LS1 Build, Emtron KV8 R34 GTR, Coolant Sensors and MORE | Today At HPA [UPDATE 229]

This is the weekly update that comes right before our paid 'Gold Members' only webinar lessons and this week ‘229 | Engine Break-in Myths Dispelled’ was covered. Details on membership below.

00:40 Emtron Worked Example: A much requested Emtron Worked Example is in the pipeline via an R34 GTR. Keep your eyes peeled for it in the new year.
In the meantime, Andre gives a rundown on why the RB26 is a little bit different to some other performance cars out there when it comes to tuning due to its ITB (individual throttle body) and twin-turbo set up. This won’t be an issue for the Emtron KV8 that is replacing the now-dated Power FC which was a common option in the past, and being a PnP option means everything should be pretty straight forward, all going to plan of course.

We also hope to have an update on the R32 previously featured in a series that is currently not really a series due to the lack of following content, but it will happen, we promise, and the owner has plenty of fruit to be added to the build in the meantime too.

07:08 LS Engine Build Worked Example: This content is complete and almost ready for release! HPA VIP members can expect to see it first shortly.

10:03 Dream Projects Nissan S15: This was Andres favourite car from the 2019 World Time Attack Challenge, hands down. The build is an absolute credit to Charles Warland and all the parties he had involved in the project with him. Open Class Time Attack rules are a bit tighter than the Pro class, but Charles built things within the book but to the absolute limit gaining the car 3rd place in class on its first outing this year. Well deserved.

12:24 Instagram Post, Coolant Sensors: Andre gives a little more detail on a recent post that has had a bit of attention regarding head cylinder sealing and the ever more common coolant pressure sensor.

16:00 Suspension Arm Failure: Due to a lot of comments and questions regarding the SPL arm failure in the HPA86, here’s an update on what has happened and why to clear up a few things. This is still getting sorted with SPL, so we hope to have an update on the solution or alternative options in the new year before the first round of the Highlands Sprint Series at our local track in Cromwell, New Zealand.

20:16 - COBB Giveaway. LAST DAY TEAM! Get in there!
After you have Andre can run you through some of the COBB Accessport features which depending on your vehicle/ECU can include real-time tuning, data-logging, multiple map storage and swapping and the ability to use it as a data display.

COBB doesn’t support every brand of car, so just double check your car is supported before entering to be safe.

23:21 Christmas Shutdown Update: We’re away from the 20th of December till the 13th of January, so please bear with the reduced forum and customer support over this period while the team recharges and remember there are plenty of webinars in the archive if you want to get your fix during the holiday period as well as an extra weekly YouTube video release as well to keep you entertained.
