MoTeC M1 Software Tutorial: Mixture Aim and Efficiency Tables
Mixture Aim and Efficiency Tables
As we have seen already, the VE based fuel model relies heavily on the mixture aim table to decide how much fuel to deliver.
For this reason, it is critical to make sure that before you begin tuning, the mixture aim table is correctly filled out with your desired lambda targets.
Once the mixture aim table is filled out, tuning the engine involves calibrating the efficiency table until the measured lambda matches the mixture aim.
The M1 includes a number of mixture aim tables that can vary dependent on operating conditions and driver or tuner preferences.
We will look at these tables and their interaction in detail a little later.
As an aside, once the efficiency table is correctly calibrated, we can effect changes in air fuel ratio by adjusting the mixture aim table without the need to retune the engine.
