Hello all,

All of the bore gauges I use while assembling engines for our shop are Mitutoyo. While these are nice gauges I ache at the fact the anvils leave minute lines on bearings or cylinder bores.

Are there replacement anvils that are tephlon tipped or softer than the standard anvils? I do realize that a tephlon tip would have to be recalibrated more often.

Thanks for your help!

Ethan

I'm not sure about the mitotoyo products sorry. Our bore gauge is an 'Insize' brand and the tips are teflon coated. They will still leave marks on the bearing surfaces however they're mostly visual in nature and very minor.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
