Discussion and questions related to the course Brake System Design and Optimization
I note that in Andre's article of the same name, that you changed to a twin master / balance bar setup at the same time as you installed the Bosch ABS. Also that the Bosch system provided prompts for optimizing balance. This raises the point that some of the benefit observed might be from a more optimal brake balance rather than just from the Bosch ABS's ability to manage changing grip levels on the limit better than the OE ABS. Did you log any before/after data that could point to how the Bosch system achieves such remarkably better stopping distances? I guess in particular, do the wheel speed traces look significantly different between the two systems, when braking with ABS fully engaged?
