Hey guys I've been working on this for along time even tho it's not my car I though I would stick it up hear , car belongs to a friend of mine Phil , this has not been a easy build and just about every thing that could go wrong has went wrong but we're getting there slowly now.

quick spec forged Pistons , forged rods with arps, 265 cams , custom exhaust manifold and down pipe , gt2860rs with tail exhaust housing , tail waste gate , rx8 injectors , link G4+ atom , Mac 3 port boost valve , Orc clutch and flywheel

Once we fitted the ecu we had a lot of rpm trigger noise I found after adjusting the filters we got it sorted , we have also had a lot of problems with map sensors the one Phil had bought was all over the place with scaling not what it should be in the end we refitted the stock Toyota one until we get a new 3bar sensor of good quality.

I'm hoping to have it mapped by the end of this week all being well, my first timing using a Mac valve and the link boost control tonight and after watching the webinar on boost control I found it very easy to set up

Il up load some pictures soon and with any luck a quick vid once it's all mapped up were hoping for around 300hp on pump fuel (97ron)

Looks like this will go well, where did you get your cams from?

I think he got them from starlet parts shop there not known to the be the best cams out there a lot have had the pin locations all wrong tho theses look be ok , ivan tighe makes good cams for theses if u can find a set

Tighe Cams can be contacted here http://tighecams.com.au/. Even though the website looks old and Ivan died last year I think the business is still operating.

Flip sorry to hear of his passing

A quick pull on the dyno yesterday made 285hp (244whp)even tho due to bad weather we could not get the car fully tuned this week , I'm pretty confident over 300 won't be a problem , power was still climbing at the 7500 rev limiter

Looks very tidy. Good work.

The owner did some testing today for his first sprint at the weekend , some tweeks to do this week want to add boost by gear and bring rpm limiter to 8200rpm , looks good to me tho http://youtu.be/Uh04QMOgJkw

Sprint at the weekend and with a damp track made things very difficult to get the power down so boost was lowered to one bar from 1.4 unfortunately the drive went off the track on this run and we never recorded a time , at .7 bar on a earlier run we gained 10 seconds from the first run at 1.4 bar due to wheel spin being pretty bad .

On the to do list is get boost by gear and boost v tps sorted for come control , having a few problems using the stock speed signal from the clocks it's very unstable more on that at a later date tho

In the vid boost is 1bar .

looks like it's going well, how are you finding the Atoms? I'm swithering between one and a Storm for a FWD project, I'm thinking the traction control ability might swing it for me though

i really like them man ive fitted a few now and every thing works like it should very impressed for the money they cost its hard to beat

They are phenomenal bang for buck, it's hard breaking the mind set of people who think the E-Manage is the way to go, an Atom is cheaper than an E-Manage and boost controller and it's 100x better

New manifold and exhaust system fitted last week , had to turn down the dc on boost control as car was up around .2bar with just changing theses parts , hoping this is a hint that it will make more power also , il be turning it up this week to 1.65 bar as it's going on the dyno at the weekend also revving to 7800 up from 7200 last time one the dyno , over 320 would be nice but I'm not too worried as the car is out of control to drive now

Is that a Wicked EP Racing manifold? it just shows how much manifold design can effect gas flow

Yeah it is man, we had to weld on a v band just , worked out ok , it's going on the dyno tomorrow would be nice to see over 300

Yes boost is coming on about 500 rpm sooner too crazy , exhaust is still only 2.25 " so could probably do with being abit bigger , il update with dyno results tomorrow

So on the rollers yesterday we managed 371hp pretty happy with that for pump fuel and not a huge amount of boost

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
