Hey guys, I have an evo 4 with factory evo 4 engine and ecu. I am now undertaking the task of swapping the factory evo 4 ecu for an evo 7 ecu for tuning purposes. I have an idea as to performing the task however I want to ensure that the task is completed correctly. Any help and guidance would be tremendously appreciated. Oh the car is currently running a bit rich and I believe my maf sensor may be the cause. Any other issue may be the cause? Let me know guys. Thanks

Usually the cause of the Evo runing rich is a false oxygen sensor...

As far as conversion goes you need to find the following file as in attached screenshot (link to scribd).

Much thanks bro really appreciate. Is it safe to install evo 7 ecu with evo 4 stock setup without tuning?

The whole point of installing Evo 7 or 8 ECU instead of Evo 4 ECU is ability to tune it for proper output. It is not given for granted just because you install another ECU, you should be able to tune it in order to get it up and running properly.

Appreciate the info. Much thanks
