Hey, so as Im working through my file, and rewatched the Ford example as the LLY is pre torque base. I am a little confused as how larger injectors come into play with these torque base calculations with my LMM. Factory maps have data out to 885ft lbs for a bone stock truck, if for example I was to just simply raise my pedal torque call to 885 I would essentially be able to take advantage of the overhead built into the factor maps, except I am running 30 overs, and not sure how or what is necessary to account for. I did pull 20% from the 1mm3-45mm3 section of the pulse table as Nick and I previously discussed to maintain a clean idle and cruise. Goal here is to create a reliable, clean 800 ft lb tow tune. Advise is greatly appreciated!

Jake,

I think you've misinterpreted our earlier discussion. I suggest you leave 1-45mm3 alone and put ~20% out of the 45mm3+ rows. The goal of this is to get the truck to accurately measure the fuel it's injecting. If that's happening all you need to do it get the truck to achieve the fuel rate in the 800ft/lb row of the 'torque to fuel' table.

Hey, yea I think I sure did. After thinking about it, I realize that mild oversized injectors don't necessarily flow more in low fuel pressure region, thus not needing to be altered correct? This is why it we are subtracting form the higher load sections of the table. So after altering my changes, I should in theory be able to make any torque call as long as limiters will allow, and DIC fuel economy numbers etc should all play nice in my stock and tow files?

Thanks again for clarifying.

Jake

Jake,

Exactly, everything you said is in-line. Also, noteworthy - the trans should be able to predict incoming torque and you shift quality should be pretty decent so long as you don't monkey-up the driver demand table. Scale the extra torque in parallel to the factory strategy.
