How do I tune for varable valve timing? How do I deside what cam profile and degree my engine requires?

If you search for the word "Variable" under the webinars, you will find several webinars demonstrating tuning VVT systems with different brands of ECUs.

The basics are -- you change the valve timing and measure the output torque from the dyno. You may discover that simply changing the valve timing will require more fuel -- that's a sign it will make more torque if the fueling is right. Once you have the fueling right, you may need to revisit the ignition timing.

Determining which cam profile to use is completely different -- I think the modern way it to use engine simulators to home in on what the engine design wants. Note, you will have interactions with intake and exhaust systems that may be difficult to model accurately.
