EFI Tuning Fundamentals
EFI Tuning Fundamentals teaches you the core principles behind the engine operation, as well as the operation of the ECU. You’ll learn how the engine produces power, why it requires a specific amount of fuel, and how to decide what the optimal ignition timing is using the dyno. You’ll also learn how compensation tables work in the ECU and how to configure them correctly. You’ll learn how interpolation works in the fuel and ignition tables and learn how to correctly configure your tables for maximum accuracy without making more work for yourself.
This course will let you tune with confidence - With the knowledge from this course, you’ll be able to correctly calibrate the fuel and ignition timing even on engines that you’re tuning for the first time. You’ll be able to tune faster and more accurately while ensuring you retain engine reliability. While many tuners rely on the trial and error method of making adjustments, this course teaches you techniques that allow you to quickly and confidently dial in your tune without any guesswork.
EFI Tuning Fundamentals isn’t specific to any particular engine or any tuning software. Instead, it focuses on the fundamental principles that are applicable to any 4 stroke, gasoline engine. So regardless whether you’re reflashing the factory PCM on a naturally aspirated LS3, or you’re tuning a Honda K20 fitted with a turbo and a standalone engine management system, or any other combination for that matter - This course contains essential knowledge you need to know.
This course is theory-based, and while several examples are demonstrated on the dyno to help reinforce the concepts being taught, it won’t teach you how to perform your tuning on the dyno or the road.
