For European customers, Xtra Motorsport (https://xtramotorsport.com/) supplier with a vast inventory of motorsport wiring components, boasting nearly 99% same-day shipping on most items in stock.
Are there any bulk wiring suppliers for TXL (GXL maybe) or Tefzel? I'm looking to stock up I have at least 10 harnesses to construct on some agricultural equipment. I am wanting to use something better that the factory PVC wiring as it is breaking down in the conditions and heat. Happy to buy 100m - 500m rolls if needed.
I have found rapid cables amongst my googling, just wondering if its worth rolling the dice on Ali or EBay?
Plex V2 knock box plug to sensor - does anyone know where I can buy these wiring connectors or terminals please? Pictures attached.
Matt,
Great, thanks.

I've looked at that Hantek but haven't used it yet. It seems like it will do the job at a totally reasonable price.
However, you don't need a scope to figure out CAN high/low. If you have no diagrams or pinouts or datasheets, you can figure it by trial and error easily.
Just hook something up and you have a 50/50 chance of it being right, and if it's not right just swap the wires and you're done.
Getting it wrong won't damage anything, it will just interrupt communication until it's resolved.
Does someone have a recommendation for a handheld Oscilloscope. I don't expect to have to use it much but I could see having to use it for determining which CAN line is High or Low. There are several on Amazon and this one is a combination Oscilloscope and Multimeter. Is this sufficient? Most of the stuff you need for is there, including great support and premium quality. Extra benefit: not including massive variety, makes shopping must more efficient.
I placed an order with Race Spec, on Mr McCrash's (Wise man) suggestion... now they can't get rid of me. Absolutely top shelf customer service!!! They go above and beyond in accommodating any special order requests, as well as promptly responding to emails. I can't recommend them highly enough!
They're a Rennsteig authorised agent and had Rennsteig make a black & grey PEW12! It's very aesthetically pleasing... which is an often overlooked, but important attribute for any tool... important for some people... for me...
They make a PEW12 AMP SS 1.0 die set that is sized correctly for use with M22759/32 wire and they also have closed barrel SS 1.0 contacts and the DMC positioner to suit as well, making for some extremely reliable connectors for most aftermarket ECUs. These are a couple of unique items that are worth a gander if you are making motorsport harnesses/looms/spaghetti maps, or whatever else you want to call them.
Could I suggest www.racespeconline.com
Just ordered up a load from them, without having a 1005 certainty what I needed, I phoned them and talked to 1 of the team with what I was wanting to do loom wise, we then went back and forth with a few emails and they came up with a full shopping list for me. I found them to be better priced than most places, they gave me free shipping and 1 of my items free. Cant argue with that.
These three tool links are dead, and I'd love suggestions for a preferred reasonably priced kit. Thanks! :
service kit. Entry Level Deutsch terminal service kit. It's competitively priced and i'll offer up my own review here soon :)
Tool-Aid ratcheting terminal service kit - my personal ratcheting crimper. I've had fantastic results with this crimper and would recommend it to anyone.

Are you referring to shielded single twisted pair for CAN? There’s two different types that I most commonly see. One of them is foil wrapped with a grounding wire along side the twisted pair other one is a braided shield with no grounding wire as the braided shield acts the ground wire. There are multiple sheathing options we usually use the cheap vinyl covered ones but I know there many others including Teflon covered. You usually see all the Teflon stuff in aerospace applications.
I have been surprised how many “impossible to find” connectors I have been able to locate and sometimes can even work out free samples.
That's great Kyle, thanks for sharing mate!

I wrote a quick post about how I go about finding connectors from the distributors like Mouser and Digikey without having to purchase an overpriced pigtail or scavenge one from a donor vehicle. Hopefully somebody finds this information useful.
Can you give me your opinion about this website? delcity.net
Does anyone have an example of a shielded twisted pair wire?
The ones I source seem to have a rather bulky jacket for adding into a harness.
Yes it is.
In this case the cost is 20€/day for each crimping tool plus 500€ deposit.
With a bit of planning you can get away with it pretty cheap, for small one-off projects.
Ahh that tool rental idea is really interesting. Cheers for sharing that Armaki, I'll make sure I mention that to a few guys as the cost of buying all the gear outright for one project does come up a bit =)
Interesting EU-based (Germany) supplier.
Spec44 wire available in many colors and small amounts, slightly overpriced though.
Most consumables available (SCL, braid, pins, ect..)
Used Autosport and Souriau connectors in stock
Most interesting: Renting service for professional crimping tools.
Is there a place to get non mil spec shielded cable? Im looking to gather some supplies to build my harness and I have found TXL wire from Ballenger Motorsports but I can't seem to find any TXL shielded wire. I know prowire has shielded but they only have mil spec (Tefzel).

Nice EU-based (Germany) source for DT/DTM/DTP connectors, also in pre-wired versions, ideal for small projects.
Nicely organized with mating parts and compatible pins.
More parts also available
The only thing I didn't find is some budget-friendly solution for crimping closed-barrel DT pins.
The UK has a massive Motorsport industry, if you can't find a direct supplier, try some of the motorsport electronics specialists, or even larger teams, for recommendations?
Come to think on it, RCE used to have pages of various trade suppliers in the back of their issues - a much missed feature but, if you have access to an old copy, that may be a place to look.
Can i make a suggestion.
It would be awesome if we could get the original list edited with the country (locations) of eash shop linked there. I a from the UK and it seems we are seriously low on good sellers here unless i am missing something.
