ok so if I have a temp sensor that requires a resistor and the sensor only has 2 wires white and black ...black goes to sensor ground and white (signal)goes to analog input do I pull a +5v supply to the same white wire with the given resistor in between +5v and white just T’d into it ?

Yep, that's exactly right :)

Yes. You'll need to be careful of the value resistor used though, as it will effect the voltage seen at the analogue input in relation to temperature, thus the calibration values needed in the ECU. Where did you get the figure of 330 Ohm from?
