Hi all, upgrading my coil packs to R35 nissan GTR packs and rewiring standard sr20det s14 harness to suit as running a Plug in Link G4+. Obviously by passing ignitor chip. Any recommendations on best practice to rewire coil pack harness? Best place to take 12v from and best place to ground? Im guessing stock signal reference from ECU is good enough? cheers!

G'day Rory.

The original 12V supply to the factory S14 coils should be grunty enough to supply the positive side of the primary winding of your replacement R35 coils.

I'm not 100% familiar with the R35 coils, but its typical that Nissan will have connected the Primary and Secondary winding grounds together on one of the three pins on the coil. Its most important that the secondary winding circuit has a really good connection between this pin and the body of the spark plug, so grounding it to a nice spot on the cylinder head is essential. The usual rules about making sure your main engine and chassis grounds are in good nick apply too :-).

Then pass your signal wires through to the signal pin on the coil. Once again, not having played with the R35 coils myself, I'm not sure what their dwell settings are like, but I would suspect some info would be available on the ol' interwebs somewhere regarding that :-).
