Hi I'm wondering about how to best approach the boxer engine (impreza) in terms of balancing the rotating assembly. Would it be approached similar to an inline engine with con rods and pistons being balanced separately to crankshaft, or like a v configuration engine and balance it as a complete assembly?
The boxer engine is treated the same as an inline engine where the components are balanced independently of the crankshaft. It's not necessary to perform a bob weight calculation and add this to the crankshaft during balancing.
