I have a problem with my 2jz-gte vvti igniton coil dwell time. Car is misfiring after 1.7 bar of boost (Precision 6766 turbo) so I re gapped my Iridium ik27 spark plugs to 0.022 , the misfire was solved but the car still had some hesitation and wasn’t smooth. I then increased my dwell time from at (13v, 2.5ms) and (14v, 2.5ms) to (13v,2.8ms) and (14v, 2.6ms) , the car ran very smooth but for unknown reason it would cutoff at 6800 rpm although my rpm limit is at 7300 rpm , I don’t know if the ignition coil wasn’t able to recharge or what but the car started cutting off at 6800 rpm , so I reduced the dwell time to (13v,2.65ms) and (14v, 2.5ms), the engine now isn’t misfiring at 1.8 bar and rpm is ok to the limit of 7300 and a bit smoother but not as smooth as it was when I ran the first modified dwell time that used to cutoff early at 6800 rpm. My questions to you are:

1) 1)Is this normal for the stock vvti ignition coils (wasted spark)?

2) 2)Shall I change my spark plugs to a copper one or better to keep the Iridium?

3) 3)Shall I re gap the Iridium plug to 0.018?

4) 4)Would you recommend me to upgrade the system to the ignition projects coil and igniter which is 11% higher in secondary current than the stock as per the manufacturer data and it is a plug and play installation IP Power Coil + IP Igniter 1JZ & 2JZ GTE VVTi Full Replacement Kit – Ignition Projects (ignitionprojectsusa.com)

5) 5)OR shall I get rid of all this system and make new wiring from the Motec M150 to run a sequential spark.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
