7mgte sporadic spark EMU black

Passive 7mgte coils, waste spark, using ecumaster emu black built-in igniter module.

first, what i find most suspicious:

-measured voltage between battery positive and IGN shows a consistent 7-9v, regardless of key position or cranking. battery voltage is 12v, when cranking 9-11v.

couldn't find any information on whether this is normal or not.

LED test light connected to coil negative terminal lights up when i quickly touch it to ground.

With LED test light connected between IGN output and battery+, it provides a steady flash when cranking.

Also get steady flashing with LED connected between IGN output and coil negative terminal.

Flashing is consistent with falling edge ignition pattern.

I've tried various dwell settings and filter settings for triggers, Scope seems fine. I also wrapped signal wires with aluminum foil, in case oem shielding is bust.

Tried new spark plugs, no difference.

Why does coil only produce spark -sporadically- when cranking or output testing?

Hi Jacob, have you had this engine running at all on the EMU Black? Is this a new problem or is it one you've had the whole time?

When you crank the engine are you seeing a steady and consistent engine rpm? Are you seeing any triggering errors?
