I will soon be working on a car with a Haltech Elite 1500 that has no idle control valve, so I am thinking it would be best to set up rotational on it. I have been reading up a bit on it but one part is not properly clarified in what I have read/seen. So my question is this: does the end rpm value effectively become the target idle rpm, or does the ECU still use the target table to determine the idle speed? This car will still be somewhat driven on the street, so I want it to cold start/cold idle reasonably OK, which will require a coolant temperature dependent idle rpm. I have some other ideas if this is not possible, but I would still like to know how the rotational idle strategy works in full.
