I'm going through the details of my AEM Infinity 5 ECU on a Porsche aircooled 3.2 hotrod build.

The air intake temp sensor set points are:

Max = 258dF

Min = -56dF

The fail safe is checked on and the set point is 77dF

Is the 77dF set point a little low?? The engine dies unexpectedly at random times.

I'm trying to understand the details of the controls within the ECU. I'm sure I will have additional questions as I crawl through the various set points.

Yes, 77 degF is too low. I was working with an aircooled 3.6L engine recently (tuning to pass emissions), and found that the air temp in the intake manifold was 65 deg C (149 degF) having been driven in off the road, and left idling. It was failing emissions because I was targeting a richer mixture starting at 60 degC.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
