open-loop ECU, same fuel, only difference is the ignition timing, 7, 14, 21 BTDC. dip is gone at 21 and more. i just want to know what are the scientific result of this.

heard something about harmonic bounceback and some volumetric efficiency stuff, but it is the ignition timing adjustment that made it gone, so what gives?

It could be anything from a failure to start the combustion due to increase cylinder pressure, or just the difference in pressure rise by not starting the ignition at the correct time. Remember, the ideal timing will result in the pressure peak at the proper time to maximize cylinder pressure and provide torque. So any less than the ideal timing will result in less torque, and sometimes starting too soon (too much ignition advance) will also result in less torque. That's why you want the Minimum timing for Best Torque (MBT).
