So iv'e done the 4 main efi tuning courses. I'm a fairly knowledgeable man when it comes to cars having built a few 4g's.

Iv'e just been asked to tune a mates boost control on a haltech ps1000 and i wouldn't have a clue where to start haha.

There's a lot of information in the courses i know but tying it all together at this stage is mind boggling.

SO HERE I AM :)

Hi guys, I'm Mike, i have a evo 9 and a evo 3 converted gsr. This is my first thread and man im keen.

Let's talk boost control.. where to start? Where to finish?

Hey Mike, Is the PS1000 all set up with an existing tune that you are just adding additional boost to? Or are you wiring in a boost control solenoid, starting from a base map etc? What are your goals - a basic street tune, or boost by gear etc?

car is already tuned for 20psi but he installed new turbo and had the 3 port solenoid plumbed up wrong i believe he said and was only making 15psi. now its correctly installed its overboosting and hitting boost cut at 23-24psi. i'll copy and paste what he said below. Sorry to be the newbee guys haha but gotta start somewhere.

"I changed my turbo from a 16g to a 3071 and put the mac valve in wrong for ages I've only been getting the new gate pressure of 15psi it's currently tuned for 20psi but the controller was tuned for the 16g waste gate so when I hooked it up the right way I got my 20 psi and some. At least i think I hooked it the right way port 3 is boost pressure port 2 waste gate port 1 vent to intake. I've reverted back for safety till I can get it set.

I'll send the map files do you want a data log aswell?."

where TF do i start haha ?? i'm usually the guy that does the installing not the tuning.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
