Hi friends

Attached two different ways of doing it. One from LINK, the other from Autronic.

What is your opinion on pro and contra compared.

TIA

One cuts off boost pressure from the wastegate actuator to control boost pressure, the other bleeds boost pressure off to control boost pressure.

I prefer the one that blocks boost pressure, since it just seems more reliable and repeatable in my experience.

Chris

I do not see the difference. Both methods bleed off, from one to another port.

Please explain further.

TIA

No they work differently. It would probably be best to look up the internal flow path of the Mac 3 port valve and/or play with one blowing air through the valve both energized and not, noting the differences in flow path, while referencing the diagrams you have shown.

532 pinches off (blocking) the boost pressure from the wastegate to control boost pressure, while 554 bleeds pressure off the boost line to reduce the amount of pressure getting to the wastegate to boost control pressure.

Thx Chris

Having this valve in the shop, I will test tomorrow.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
