I have a 2012 chevy sonic 1.8L, and I am beyond frustrated with trying to get my first log going and using a histogram to get started. Theres no information here on how to weld a bung, how to install the wide band, how to do the wiring, how to select the correct pids to make a histogram. My goal is to learn how to make a histogram to see what my fuel trims are so I can get better gas mileage. Or if thats the wrong approach, id appreciate it if someone could help steer me in the right direction. I'm tired of using chatgpt to try and learn this. The courses taught about EFI were amazing, but trying to get a log started has been extremely disappointing and I'm actually starting to hate this all together.
So Andre and Ben, from an absolute beginners point of view, maybe teach a course on how to weld a bung into the exhaust, how to do the wiring, how to set up the gauge, and how to select the right pids in vcm editor to get a histogram going. I had to youtube all of this and found this quite frustrating. Without knowing how to do this, all of that information you teach is useless unless I can log my car.
My advice for a beginner for welding in an exhaust bung, is to take it to some one that can weld. Look for Muffler shop, or welding shop. That is not an easy project for someone who doesn't have welding experience.
I've had many years experience welding, I was more referring to the orientation so that the sensor is pointed at a certain angle.
Sorry, didn't mean to offend. Most of the wideband controllers, have installation instructions that show the bung should be installed above horizontal. Here is an example.
