Hello Guys,
im building a project a 2016 Isuzu Dmax with the 4jj1 Diesel engine, now i want to swap the original transmission for an 8HP70 Gen 1 Transmission. I have a MaxxEcu Mini already bought and im going to flash the maxx ecu firmware to the tcu. The thing is that the 8hp transmission needs a momentary torque reduction so that it can shift properly. How can i get the Isuzu ECU to cut fuel so that it reduces torque and the transmission could shift properly?
The isuzu engine is handled with the original ecu via reflash with WinOLS and PCMFlash.
im thinking about two options, the first one is to sniff the oem canbus to get the maxxecu mini to send a torque reduction request signal via canbus to the transtron ecu(if possible).
the second one is to use a 5v solid state relay to cut the electronic tps sensor signal to the isuzu ecu momentary by using a ground output from the maxxecu via shiftcut option but this option has me confused since im cutting the tps signal that the 8hp transmission also uses could cause problems.
Can someone that has done this swap chime in?
