Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me out here. Having issues getting any sync on the trigger at all. I feel like I've tried everything I can think of at this point.

Car: Porsche 996 (the 996.2 and 997.1 are close enough that the engine actually ran on the factory ecu...just not very well)

Engine: Porsche M97.01 3.8L from a 997.1

Trigger: 60-2 with VR Sensor

Hall Effect cam sensor with home on the cams which are I believe Porsche specific 4-1 pattern for their version of the VVT. The Maxx has a setting for the M96/70 turbo engines which should as far as I am led to believe share the same trigger pattern.

I have checked with the oscilloscope feature and the polarity of the crank sensor looks correct. It does seem to have very high voltage just for cranking rpm.

I have also used the trigger logger in the software and it seems that it doesn't always count the right number of teeth. and the time gap between the teeth seems to vary a lot with compression but there isn't always a defined tooth that is 3x longer than the rest. So I am guessing this is why it won't sync. Weirdly I went back and checked through the logger and found there was one time it kept partially going green and counting the right number of teeth but the gap never showed up as longer than the other teeth.

I feel like I've tried everything I can think of to try find the issue. But I am probably missing something simple as I don't have enough experience. I've tried to do as much research and reading beforehand, hence trying the following.

Trigger falling / rising - no change

Reverse polarity of sensor - can see the oscilloscope it has flipped but still no sync (tried with both rising and falling as well)

Arming voltage - manual (between 0.20 which is base map and - 2V) - No sync / Also tried Auto tracking but also hasn't helped

Trigger time tolerance - Extra tolerance at low RPM - still no sync

Filter short trigger pulses - Enabled or disabled still no sync

I am at the moment thinking that it is just crank signal issue. not even worried about the cam yet. But would just love to get it up and running finally.

Thanks for the help
