I have a mazda mx5 1.6l n/a and recently installed an RM ecu which is basically a speeduino using tunerstudio as a tuning software. I started tuning the car and it drives well with no hesitation. The issue i have is that the engine is slow to accelerate even when i rev it from stand still and i cant seem to find out whats the issue. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

I don't know the ECU, but if the car was running well before the change it would suggest fuelling, ignition timing, or both, may be wrong.

A common error is not having the ECU's "TDC" reference correctly aligned with the physical TDC - there should be documentation for this, but it's basically 'locking' the timing to a fixed values, usually 0 degrees but +10 can be used if you have marks for that, then checking with a timing light that the ECU figure matches the engine's timing marks.

If that aligns, next would be to confirm the fuel mixture isn't too rich or lean - you may be able to check that fro the OEM lambda?

Then try adjusting the timing to see if that helps.

I assume you've already checked the throttle is opening fully?

Other possible issues may be some sort of restriction in the intake system or exhaust - try going over all the things you may have changed, either consciously or by accident.

So timing is ok, i noticed the crank trigger filtering was low maybe that solves something if i change it to medium . Regarding fueling the afr readings looks good and theres no restrictions. I can confirm that as with the stock ecu it runs fine ill atthach my ve table, ignition table , afr table maybe it could show something ""
