My client previously had a MoTeC M800 ECU installed on their vehicle and was able to connect to it without issue. At that time, the MoTeC software showed a successful connection indicated by the green status.
Recently, the client attempted to reconnect to the ECU, but the software is now displaying a red status, indicating that there is no connection to the ECU.
The client has not made any known changes to the ECU, wiring, or software configuration since the last successful connection.
Please let us know what steps we should take to diagnose and resolve this issue.
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,

Not knowing the configuration -- sometimes you need to have the UTC (USB to can adapter) connected before the ECU is powered up.
Next I would re-install the UTC USB driver (search for UTC on the Motec website, and download the “Utilities - Drivers, UTC, BR2, E8xx, SLM”). I find that Windows Updates can tend to mess that up.
Still stuck, I would call MoTeC USA at 704-799-3800 for direct assistance.
Some Windows Updates have been breaking the communications between the ECU Manager software an the UTC, as Dave said, run the Utilities installer to reinstall the USB drivers.
