I'm looking for a portable wideband to use with a tailpipe clamp.

Can I use an Innovate MTX-L Plus wideband and get an acceptable accuracy as the LM-2 portable wideband?

The MTX-L is cheaper than the LM-2. If the reading is accurate using a titepipe clamp, I would rather the MTX-L. Also I don't want to permanently install it because I'm still learning and may I change my car.

What would you use with a titepipe clamp?

A tailpipe clamp is only useful if you are only going to be testing a car for a few hours. Any longer than that, and it's really easy to have a bung welded into the exhaust. If you need to remove the Lambda sensor, you just install a plug into the bung.

You're going to get the same accuracy with either of the Innovate products. But I believe the LM unit is capable of logging the data so it's more capable.

Hi David. Thanks

So would I need to wait a while after a few hours of use before to continue testing the car if I use a tailpipe clamp?

Well I thought about the bung welded but what about if I need to use the wideband in other car

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
