Can anyone help with the correct way to perform these? I think I have it correct, but any information would help.
Mechanical:
Cylinder 1 TDC,
intake/exhaust cam lobes ,
9 Links between intake/exhaust gears,
Gear timing notches at 10-12 position,
Align CAS, and install CAS so notches line up,
(Should be mechanically timed)
Ignition timing:
Run engine operating temp,
Verify idle 850-900rpm, if not adjust IACV,
Run engine 2,000 rpm for 1 min,
Shut off engine, and disconnect TPS,
Start engine, and rev to 3k+ 3x times,
locked timing,
Use timing light, and adjust CAS till 15degree,
Plug in TPS.
This is the proper way correct? Help would be desired
Seems like a lot of extra steps for checking the ignition timing. It seems to me if you lock the timing in the ECU, it won't matter what the temp is, whether TPS is connected, what the idle speed is.
What ECU are you using?
Currently a factory ECU flashed by RSenthalpy
