Hi. Ive been building an all motor sr20ve and been wondering which crankshaft is good for power? Or maybe reliability too. The 8 counterweight or the 4 counterweight?
The stock Nissan crankshaft for the SR20 is a full counterweight crankshaft with 8 counterweights? It really depends what your power aims are as to whether the factory crank will suffice. There's plenty of people who have made 800-1000 hp on a stock crank in drag applications but for reliability you may be better to consider a billet crank at that sort of power level. If you're looking at 600 hp or below then there should be no need to replace a good condition stock crank.
