Hi!

We are currently pushing a 1.3L 4efe 4 cylinder engine quite hard and running into a wall right now

Running a GTX3582r turbo with a .64 a/r turbine housing, stock port head with a drop in cam and shimless buckets, rods and pistons and billet caps revving it to 9200rpm on e85 fuel.

Currently we made 582hp on 3.4bar of boost but with iats running up real hard to 80c, it started running up iats from 2.8bar upwards so its getting very inefficient.

On 3.1bar it makes 566hp beginning of the run its at 30c end of run 64c.

Im just curious where you guys think the bottle neck is at right now, at 3.4 bar boost we have a emap of 3.9bar so thats pretty good, power peaks at 8500rpm then slowly starts falling off.

Im thinking we need to port the head and get a bigger cam to keep the power falling off up high, bigger intercooler is not an option so maybe methanol injection pre intercooler to help cool the iats.

There is a lot of work that's been done on the heads of these, as they're not great out of the factory for power.

Larger valves and porting work will let it breathe a lot better, which should help keep the intake temps down due to the lower flow restrictions

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
