Hi! I am preparing to degree the cams on my LS/VTEC B series motor and I’m wondering why we are ‘allowed’ to rotate the engine clockwise during the TDC truing process when the manual is so adamant about only rotating it counterclockwise?
99.99% of engines rotate clockwise, looking from the pulley end. IIRC, Honda use an anti-clockwise rotation for some engines and, if yours is one, you can USUALLY just reverse the directions - the problem may lie with the tensioner, as some designs can cause problems if reversed*.
*Applies to some conventional CW engines, too!
