Tell us a little about you. What cars you are interested, where you are from and why you are interested in learning to tune.
Hi guys/gals my name is Brady. I am a recent graduate of Wyotech (2017) and was given the opportunity to experience some of the high performance tuning and engine building in my specialty class high performance powertrians. It was a good class but there is only so much you can cram in a 3 month period so I have gone the extra mile to obtain the VIP package here with HPA. I have 2 cars as of right now. A 2005 Subaru Impreza STi (USDM) owned for 4 years and a 2018 Ford Focus ST. I have dabbled a little bit with ECUFlash and Accesstuner for the STi road tuning only and also rebuilt the engine once myself. I do believe I had made some mistakes with the small time frame I had in school so she is currently in the garage awaiting a full, complete, careful and methodical rebuild. She is the project car. I have Accesstuner for my Focus but have not gone through with tuning her yet since she is my daily with the Subaru down. I like all kinds of engines: JDM, Euro or American muscle. I also work as a diesel mechanic and love the Cummins engines. I also have a fascination with the Mazda Rotary engine as well as radials, turboprops, or turbine engines in airplanes/helicopters. Next schooling is going to be airframe and powerplant for the aviation industry. I look forward to chatting with you as well as the HPA team. Remember knowledge is power. Better yet, ACCURATE knowledge is power.
Hi Brady,
Welcome to HPA. You've picked a couple fragile engines to learn on, was it a bearing issue or a piston? with the Focus I'd look into LSPI before trying to do any tuning.
