I grew up working on many cars with my father and continued on my own cars for the last 30+ years. I have been around since carbs and twisting distributors was the way! I am also a computer person as well as electronics. I have been very interested in ECU tuning since they became the norm but have always butted against the expense and lack of info about tuning OEM ECUs especially in the cars I am particularly partial to which is Volkswagen products.
I am currently building a 1.8T Golf GTi which I have owned since 2004 and since gave to my daughter. The timing belt broke and bent all 20 Valves. I am making the car fast for my daughter as she wanted to get a bike and I said I would far rather she has a fast car to which she agreed.
I have given up on trying to get enough information about the OEM ECU and have now got an ECUMaster EMU Black. So I have signed up for all the tuning courses so that I can do that properly. Still in the process of building the engine with all forged parts, built turbo manifold and Pulsar G25 660 turbo and large front mount intercooler.
