Hello from Texas. I have a little 3LT (V8 ZQ8 Sport) Chevrolet Colorado that is going to be my learning mule for these courses. I have HP Tuners and have only flashed to effectively remove the trucks speed limiter. I'm here to learn as much as possible and see where it takes me. Future plan is to swap the 5.3l for a 6.2l and the 4l60e transmission for a 6l80e transmission. Overall goals is a daily drivable 500+hp fun truck. Something to change the oil in and enjoy.

Hi Armando,

Welcome! You will find some great info here with tuning your truck and utilizing HP Tuners.

You should jump over to the build section and start a thread on your build so we can keep up with progress

From what I understand, the 5.3 has a lot of potential, especially if you use forced induction - the infamous 'Ruby' was getting confortably into 4 figures with a rather crude setup before popping a head gasket. It had aftermarket heads, though.

You can make 500hp in a variety of ways, have a good think about the truck and how it's used before making the call.

BTW, I endorse the KISS principle you seem to following, but I'd also change the filter with the oil ;-)

hello from central texas!! HP Tuners is great. the 5.3 is a very potent engine, especially with spooli boi's added
