Hi I'm Rob from Brisbane Australia. I have a Aussie 1969 Ford that I'm rebuilding.

Currently I'm focusing on a rebuild of the 351 Cleveland V8 so I'm doing the engine building courses.

I don't have any experience professionally working on cars other than what I've learnt over the years.

Hi Rob,

I'm Brent. I live in the US, Atlanta area. I don't have my project car yet so I will have to live vicariously through you until I have my own project car. I rebuilt car engines when I was in high school, several decades ago. A Chevy V8, a Chevy IL6 and a VW 4 banger. All turned out well with a lot of help from my teacher and classmates. I completed the basic course here as a refresher and it's pretty good. I will take the next course once I land my project car. Based on my experience and training from 1980, the material provided here is pretty straight forward and accurate so you should do well. I look forward to seeing your progress. Thanks for sharing.

Brent.

Thanks Brent for your feedback. I've done quite a bit of mechanical work on my own cars like brakes, brake conversions, installing of engines and gearboxes over the last 25 years but never done an engine build so looking forward to doing my first.

Cool, I do like the older Fords! 2V or 4V, manual or auto'?

Not so much stuff available as for the GM engines, but you should certainly be able to find the right mix to build it up for your requirements, whether that be to OEM spec', reliable, economic cruising, or something with a bit (lot!) more power.

Hey Gord, I previously had this engine with a 4 speed single rail and I'd prefer an auto this time around as I'm going for a pro-street style build. I think for my first time building this engine I'll go for around 400hp but long game would be to build 10 sec street / strip car with an aftermarket aluminium block with turbos or supercharged. :)
