I am doing time attacks in Japan with a Civic Type R FK2.

This photo shows the front of a 12D Type A bursting.

We are looking for the cause of this burst.

Under inflation and/or too much camber leading to the shoulder of the tyre overheating and wearing excessively. This weakened the shoulder causing the failure. Excessive wheel spin on the unloaded inside tyre can also cause this wear pattern as typically under roll with aggressive camber, the inside shoulder of the unloaded wheel is the last point of contact with the road under cornering and acceleration with lateral load on.

As Stephen said.

You may find increasing caster will allow you to reduce camber, with the advantage the tyre surfaces will be flatter to the road on the inside.

I'd also check the toe-out, keeping in mind the geometry, front or rear steer, scrub radius and deflection potential of the suspention and mounting points - I assume you've already got rid of any rubber in the suspension?

Oh, and it might be a good idea to check the Ackermann isn't introducing too much turn-in.

Thank you for the advice. I’ll take things one step at a time and keep moving forward
